Itinerary

We travel north and have lunch in Lockerbie on our way to our first overnight hotel in Fort William. We have time at leisure at all our destinations, we also enjoy 3 and ½ day excursions, and all ferry crossings. We enjoy a 2-hour wildlife cruise on Loch Linnhe taking in the iconic views of Ben Nevis and the local sights including Seal Island. If we are lucky, there is a possibility of spotting dolphins. Later we continue North crossing the Skye bridge to the Isle of Skye and Kings Arms Hotel. We journey through Skye taking in the spectacular scenery to Dunvegan Castle & Gardens - the ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan Macleod for over 800 years. Enjoy exploring the award-winning gardens and castle as you learn about the rich heritage of the area. We travel to the ferry terminal at Ulg where we board the afternoon ferry to Tarbert on the Isle of Harris. We drive through the postcard landscape to Stornoway arriving at the Cabarfeidh Hotel for the next 2 nights. We travel to the Carloway Mill, where we enjoy a tour showing the process of making the traditional Harris Tweed. We then continue our journey around the island to our hotel at Stornoway. We board the morning ferry to Ullapool where breakfast is included on the ferry. We disembark to journey through the highlands to the stunning Dunrobin Castle and Gardens. In the castle enjoy the period treasures in the many magnificent rooms showing centuries of habitation by Dukes and Earls of Sutherland. Dramatically set between castle and sea, Dunrobin’s great walled gardens are a delight. Afterwards we make our way to Strathpeffer and the Ben Wyvis Hotel. After breakfast on our final day, we depart and head for home with a meal stop on the way.
