Itinerary

After a leisurely breakfast, the day is free to explore the traditional market town of Alnwick at leisure. We have a full day excursion included, we journey along the Northumberland coast making our first stop in the pretty harbour of Seahouses. After enjoying some free time here, we continue along the coast to Bamburgh. The town is dominated by its famous castle that has enjoyed over 1,400 years of rich history and was built as the capital of the Kingdom of Northumbria. Our New Year’s Eve evening begins with pre-dinner fizz and canapes followed by a New Year’s Eve gala dinner. There is live entertainment in the form of a pianist and a DJ provides dancing opportunities. The New Year is celebrated with a piper and singing the traditional chorus Auld Lang Syne. On our final day, after breakfast, we depart the hotel and begin the journey home with a refreshment stop on the way.

The White Swan is a 300-year-old coaching inn boasting superb accommodation. Situated in the heart of Alnwick with a magnificent staircase which was salvaged from the illustrious RMS Olympic, and restaurant décor from Titanic’s sister ship. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring.
