Itinerary

Depart from your home area travelling to Dumfries arriving at the Holiday Inn Dumfries for lunch on arrival. We have free time to settle in before a welcome drink’s reception in the lounge in the evening followed by dinner. We enjoy 1 and ½ days out which includes a scenic drive along the Solway Coast passing through Kirkbean, Dalbeattie, Dundrennan, and on to Kirkcudbright. Known as ‘The Artists town, we make a short stop in this pretty fishing port with time to explore at your own pace. We head back to Dumfries via Castle Douglas. In the hotel this evening our hotel treats us to a Carvery Roast Dinner helps get the New Year off to a great start. We have free time in Dumfries, perhaps visit Robert Burns House, enjoy a stroll along the river Nith or browse the shops. We head back to the hotel for a light lunch and a hot drink to warm up and in the afternoon, we have a visit to Annandale Distillery for a guided tour, giving a glimpse of the history and production of their single cask whisky. We enjoy a New Year with a Party and Around-the-World Buffet with a champagne toast at midnight. On our final day after breakfast, we head home stopping for a comfort break before we reach our final destination.
