Festive Beamish and Alnwick Garden Light Trail

Itinerary

We travel to Durham and arrive at our hotel with lunch on arrival. We have time to relax before our evening meal. We enjoy 2 full day excursions which includes an exciting morning in Newcastle with free time for shopping and sightseeing. We then go onto the Alnwick Garden to admire the beautiful Winter Light Trail. Sparkling and shimmering illuminations light up the gardens in a stunning sound and light extravaganza at this after-dark spectacular. We also visit Beamish Museum where we step into Christmases past and explore the 350-acre site. Beamish tells the story of the people of Northeast England in the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s. We indulge in roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, and entertainment in the beautifully decorated museum. Hop on board a tram or steam train and pop into the co-op shops. After a full day we return to the hotel for our evening meal. On our final day we enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we set off for our journey back to Lancashire.
