Christmas in The Lakes

Itinerary

After a scenic drive we arrive at our beautiful Damson Dene Hotel. On arrival we are greeted with Mince Pie and refreshments before free time to unpack, unwind and explore your surroundings. Christmas Eve

Gather for a glass of delicious, mulled wine and mince pies in the cosy lounge where the Christmas Trees are beautifully decorated, and the log fire is crackling (4-5.30pm). A festive three course dinner will be served in the restaurant this evening after which you can relax in the hotel bar or lounge.

MERRY CHRISTMAS…. A traditional Cumbrian breakfast awaits, let us add a bit of sparkle with a glass of Bucks Fizz, waiting for Santa Claus to visit with small gifts. The hotel’s leisure club is open as usual for the energetic to help work up their appetite for Luncheon or take a local walk. After the exercise has stimulated your appetite, lunch which is served promptly at 1pm. Make sure you leave room for coffee and Christmas cake before settling down for the King’s speech at 3pm. Later you can help yourself to as much or as little as you can manage from our light buffet supper.

Boxing Day

After breakfast you are free to discover the Lake District. Be sure to check holiday opening times for all the local attractions. However, if you don’t wish to explore, we do have entrance to the hotels Model Village featuring over 100 buildings made of local Coniston slate. Whether you’re walking, driving out or maybe even sledging (weather permitting), you can enjoy our beautiful surroundings, get some fresh air and build up an appetite for your three-course dinner. At 9pm it’s Quiz/Karaoke Night in the Restaurant. Winners of the various competitions will also be announced in the Damson Tree Bar.
