Kent – The Garden of EnglandFrom: Sunday, May 5, 2019
To: Friday, May 10, 2019
About the Trip
New for 2019, Kent is a haven of breath taking English landscape, hence the name ‘The Garden of England.’ From mysterious marshland to the dramatic white cliffs of Dover, from sleepy villages and bustling seaside resorts to historic castles and towering cathedrals, there’s no shortage of things to do in Kent. Kent’s coastline is a beautiful place to visit all year round, boasting of most blue flag beaches in the UK.
Our journey southeast to our hotel includes a breakfast and a refreshment stop, before arriving in time to freshen up and take a look around before dinner.
Our tour includes a full day visiting Leeds Castle, rising majestically from the moat as it has done for almost 900 years, with 500 acres of beautiful parkland and formal gardens. On another full day we embark on a coastal tour visiting, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, where Charles Dickens used to holiday on this small, sandy bay with a promenade & cabins and Margate. Our next full day is spent with free time in Rye, a medieval town with cobbled streets and narrow passages revealing architectural treasures among beautiful preserved Medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings. We will have free time to explore, before continuing to board on a train journey on the RH & DR.
A further full day takes us onto the City of Canterbury, it’s in the corner of England that is almost touching France. Here you will have free time to explore the city whether you decide to visit the extraordinary cathedral, The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, The Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction, to name a few. All too soon is time to say farewell and we start our journey home which will include a refreshment stop & a meal stop en route.
