
About the Trip
New for 2019, this tour of the Scottish Highlands based in a stunning hotel, at the beautiful entrance to the Cairngorm National Park. Home to some of the most unique animals & plants in the UK. It is twice the size of the Lake District National Park and bigger than the whole of Luxembourg.
Almost half of the park is of international importance for nature and is protected by European Law. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for Nessie!
Itinerary
Our journey to our hotel includes a refreshment and a meal stop. We arrive in time to freshen up and take a look around the hotel before dinner. Our tour includes a journey on the famous steam train, The Jacobite, where we experience the breathtaking beauty of the Scottish Western Highlands.
Another full day, we will visit The House of Bruar, a world-renowned manufacturers of traditional heritage tweeds and fi ne cashmere coats to name a few. There is also a food hall and delicatessen, where you can sample hand-picked gourmet delights from across the globe. In the afternoon we visit The Blair Athol distillery, in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, which includes “a wee dram”!!!
Our next full day includes a trip to the famous Loch Ness and free time in Inverness. We also have a free day to enjoy the local area, the hotel is situated 23 miles south of the highland capital Inverness and 7 miles north of Aviemore. All too soon is time to say farewell, we enjoy a hearty full Scottish breakfast and start our journey home which will include a refreshment stop & a meal stop en route.

A hotel full of character based on the river, at the entrance to Cairngorm National Park. The Carrbridge Hotel has been home to the Watt family for the last 3 decades and although has undergone extensive refurbishment, it still holds all the original character. All of the bedrooms are ensuite with tea and coffee making facilities. There is a lift to most floors.
